Southwest Kansas hospitality shines bright year round as area visitors and residents enjoy the sights and sounds of Liberal. The Mid-America Air Museum boasts the nation's fifth largest collection of military and civilian aircraft and houses one of the country's finest "hands on" aviation science exhibits.

The history of Seward County began over 400 years ago, and is recorded at The Coronado Museum. The museum offers a collection of items dating back to 1541 when Don Francisco Vasquez de Coronado and 36 soldiers entered what is now Kansas near the present site of Liberal searching for the fabled "Seven Cities of Gold". The museum also features a collection of items used in the settlement of this territory during its Wild West heyday and also those things which gave it a more civilized tone.

Dorothy's House of The Land of Oz, one of Kansas' most popular tourist attractions, delight visitors with recreations of the classic movie and over 5000 square feet of animated entertainment. Soon Liberal will proudly unveil the completely renovated Rock Island Depot, which is on the National Historic Register.

Visitors to Liberal will find seventeen hotels, one bed and breakfast and over 35 restaurants waiting to make them feel comfortable and welcome.

Liberal has established itself as a leader in the convention industry with facilities for meetings and conferences from 10 to 2,000. The Seward County Activity Center, with its ability to accommodate any type of convention has hosted delegates from the oil/gas industry, insurance industry, state government, and state-wide civic organizations.

Combine these attractions with annual celebrations such as International Pancake Day, SummerFest, OztoberFest, and the Liberal Air Show and you'll know why, There Is No Place Like Our Home!
